The digitalized tool identification “tool management” of cutting tools will be a big and interesting topic worldwide this year.
We, the ÖSTLING Marking Systems GmbH, will help you with the implementation of the digitalized tool markings and will accompany you to meet the Industry 4.0 standard.
Digitized tool markings? What for?
In Industry 4.0 it is specified that machines and tools should “communicate” with each other or tools should be identified. This would be possible by marking a DataMatrix code on the tools. In the DataMatrix codes, you can store cutting data, article number, tool life, statistics, tool data, etc., and after marking, these can be read again with a corresponding reader.
With our standard product range e.g. the AIO M with an AIOBox and a standard lens this is possible without any problems. You can apply extremely small DataMatrix Codes 12×26, alphanumeric or numeric markings (approx. 0.8 x 1.6mm) to your tools.
All according to GS1 standard and for possible VDMA recommendations.
